Google’s mobile friendly update is planned to start tomorrow. Google announced it’s algorithmic changes in February, Google did this to give webmasters enough time to make their web sites mobile friendly and ensure they didn’t lose any business or leads off the back of it.
The mobile friendly update will give a potential ranking boost to mobile-friendly pages in Google’s mobile search results.
This algorithmic update is going to affect any business or website owner who are not already using a Mobile-Friendly website.
Google was founded with the intention of providing relevant content to internet searchers specific requests. (As well as making a profit of course) And with mobile device traffic now exceeding desktop traffic it makes perfect sense that Google would want to provide information in the correct format.
Companies using separate mobile websites to desktop sites are lightly to loose out too. The websites likely to gain most from this update are responsive ones. If your website renders in all devices then you won’t accidentally update one website and not the other.
This update will only impact mobile searchers and it will give a ranking boost to mobile-friendly pages in Google’s mobile search results, but be warned.. this could change in future updates.
